I love silk scarves!

The texture and luminosity can't be beat. In addition to incorporating silk into my fiber art, I hand dye silk scarves in gemstone colors.

My Silk Gem Scarves are 13" x 68" and are packaged with a card noting the name of corresponding gemstone and its meaning.

Eco Printed Silk Scarves

Eco printing combines the historical methods used in natural dyeing with contact print techniques. The colors and prints in these scarves come from natural dyes found in local plants…most of the leaves are gathered from my own yard here in northeast Connecticut.  The botanicals are layered onto the silk, bundled and tightly bound.  The bundles are then steamed or boiled for several hours.   I use a 6-step process to complete each scarf. This process transfers pigment from the leaves onto the cloth permanently. No synthetic dyes, inks, or paints are used.

Every scarf is unique!
